John E. Baird holds a Ph.D. from Indiana University and has served both as a faculty member at the University of Michigan and as Head of Communication and Employee Opinion Research at Baxter International. Since becoming a consultant in 1980, he has helped hundreds of healthcare organizations to improve employee, physician and patient satisfaction, while strengthening leadership and communication overall. He has written or co-authored fourteen books and over thirty articles dealing with leadership, employee relations and effective organizational communication. Dr. Baird also serves as advisory editor for several major publishing houses.

Marsha K. Borling received her Nursing degree from M.B. Johnson in Elyria, Ohio, along with a B.S. from St. Francis College and an M.A. in Managerial Communications from Concordia University. She has focused her career entirely on the healthcare industry, with ten years of experience as a bedside staff nurse and middle manager, nine years as a senior hospital and healthcare executive, and thirteen years as president/founding partner in Borling & Associates and Baird/Borling Associates. The knowledge she has acquired through this day to day industry experience has equipped her with a deeper understanding of the challenges facing today’s healthcare providers.
In her consulting work, Borling specializes in executive coaching for healthcare administrative and physician leaders, leadership transitions, medical staff and governing board relations, strategic planning, employee and labor issues, communications, and turnaround situations. She is certified as an Executive Coach at the Advanced Level through Columbia University in New York City and logged more than 100 coaching hours in 2008 alone.
As an experienced group facilitator, project leader and public speaker, Borling is a frequent presenter at state, regional and national healthcare conferences, addressing topics such as the nursing shortage and how to build a climate of retention in healthcare settings. Her experience, knowledge and expertise can lend strength to any organization, resulting in a higher level of service and profitability for all her clients.
